Taking an expatriate policy from theory to practice and defining who should be responsible for certain activities may be more of a challenge than you expect. And your company’s infrastructure may not immediately be able to support the new policies. ORC can help you address all of these issues.

  • COMPAS is a customisable outsourcing option that provides you with ongoing support to ease your administrative burdens and prevent costly mistakes.
  • ORC Abacus, a software application, helps you manage your expatriate workforce by developing assignment cost projections; generating assignment packages; interacting with ORC cost-of-living, housing, and other data in an electronic format; understanding changes to ORC data; and tracking your assignee population.
  • ORC’s client-dedicated website allows you more access and the ability to manage your own data. You can create and view data tables (current and backdated), view personalised historical information, and access a variety of resource materials and news that affects global workforces.
Communication

Proactive communication will help alleviate problems that typically result when assignees and their families do not completely understand their expatriate programme. Your programme administrators should consistently explain pay methods, currency devaluation, and the effects of inflation. Tying these practices to your organisation’s philosophy is an effective communications practice that will complete the picture for your audience.

ORC’s experts can talk directly to your expatriates or train your administrators to do so. We can prepare and disseminate information to your administrators, managers, and assignees, for one-time events or ongoing communication needs. We can conduct public or customised training sessions, prepare one-time individual assignment letters, create policy change announcements, and help you communicate to assignees and their families during the pre-assignment phase, while abroad, and before repatriation.
